This night is called Shab-e-Qadr because Allah Almighty has revealed in it a book of great value and dignity to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for the guidance and reformation of a great community. Since good deeds are accepted on this night and they are highly valued in the presence of the Lord of Glory, it is called Shab-e-Qadr.
Thus, there are various instructions regarding the virtue of Shab-e-Qadr in different places, but since Allah Himself has revealed the Surah on it and all its virtues have been mentioned by the Lord of Glory Himself, it seems appropriate that first of all Let us mention the Surah which was revealed on this occasion. It was said in this blessed Surah (translation). The Night of Destiny is better than a thousand months, and on that night the angels and the Spirit (Gabriel) descend by the command of their Lord for good.
