In the Sindh Assembly, suggestions were made regarding fines on parents for not allowing young people to get married. A draft law was submitted to the Assembly Secretariat by Sindh Assembly member Abdul Rashid.
According to the details, the bill was submitted to the Assembly Secretariat by the MMA member Sindh Assembly.
The draft calls for compulsory marriage at the age of 18.
It was further stated that if the parents failed to submit the affidavit under Article 2, they would be fined Rs. 500 each.
The bill, dubbed the Sindh Mandatory Marriage Act 2021, calls on the Sindh government to ensure that parents marry off their children at the age of 18, if the parents delay in marrying the children. Have to be informed with solid reasons.
Article 3 of the bill on fines says that the fines should be deposited in the official bank accounts of the deputy commissioner, while the provincial government is asked to implement the bill.
Member Sindh Assembly Abdul Rashid said that the purpose of the draft law is the welfare of the society. Under the prevailing procedure, a private member's bill would be sent to the concerned department. ۔
